Phil McGrane
Philip McGrane is an American politician from Idaho who is serving as the Secretary of State of Idaho. He previously served as the county clerk for Ada County, Idaho. He is a member of the Republican Party. As a candidate for secretary of state, McGrane stated that Joe Biden was the rightful winner of the 2020 United States presidential election, unlike his two main opponents in the primary. Early life McGrane is from Boise, Idaho. He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Washington. After graduating, he worked in philanthropy, including with Habitat for Humanity in Alabama. He returned to Boise in 2005 and began working for the Ada County elections office. Philip Eugene Batt (born March 4, 1927) is an American politician who served as the 29th governor of Idaho from 1995 to 1999. Batt had previously served as the 35th lieutenant governor of Idaho, Chair of the Idaho Republican Party, and as a member of the Idaho Legislature. He is a member of the Republican Party. Early life and education Born in Wilder, Idaho, Batt was the fifth and youngest child of John and Elizabeth Karn Batt. The America First Secretary of State Coalition ("America First SOS Coalition") was an American right-wing coalition formed to support a slate of candidates in the 2022 United States secretary of state elections who supported former president Donald Trump's baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen. The coalition's president was Jim Marchant, the unsuccessful Republican nominee for Secretary of State of Nevada, and was headquartered in Las Vegas. Ben T. Ysursa (born June 10, 1949) is an American attorney and politician who served as the Secretary of State of Idaho from 2003 to 2015. Early life and education A native of Boise, Idaho, Ysursa graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in 1967. He earned a bachelor's degree from Gonzaga University in 1971 and a Juris Doctor from the Saint Louis University School of Law in 1974. Career Ysursa was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 1974. From 1974 to 2003, Ysursa served in the Idaho Secretary of State office under his predecessor, Pete T. Cenarrusa.
