2018 Virginia Cavaliers Men's Soccer Team
The 2018 Virginia Cavaliers men's soccer team represented University of Virginia during the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Cavaliers were led by head coach George Gelnovatch, in his twenty-third season. They played home games at Klöckner Stadium. This was the team's 78th season playing organized men's college soccer and their 66th playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. In addition, the Cavaliers were one of the six college soccer programs that participated in U.S. Soccer's 2018 Spring Men's College Soccer Program, which was held from March 4–April 21. This will be a series of competitive fixtures that use IFAB rules instead of NCAA rules for matches. George Gelnovatch
George Gelnovatch (born February 12, 1965) is the men's soccer coach at the University of Virginia. He played professionally in the MISL I, Major Indoor Soccer League and American Professional Soccer League. As head coach, he has led Virginia Cavaliers men's soccer, Virginia men's soccer to the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, College Cup Final Four in 1997, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2014, and 2019. Under his leadership, Virginia won its sixth and seventh NCAA National Championships of the sport in 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, 2009 and 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, 2014. Todd, North Carolina
Todd is an unincorporated community straddling the county lines of Watauga and Ashe counties in northwestern North Carolina, United States on the South Fork of the New River. It lies at an elevation of 2,992 feet (912 m). The population was 2,141 at the 2010 United States Census. The ZIP Code for Todd is 28684. The community, originally called Elk Cross Roads, was settled in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The community was a rural outpost in the backcountry of the Blue Ridge Mountains populated by farmers. Edward Opoku
Edward Opoku Yeboah Alexander (born 1 August 1997) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a winger. He previously appeared at the senior level with AC Connecticut, Columbus Crew SC, Saint Louis FC, and Birmingham Legion. Opoku came to the United States through the Right to Dream Academy at the age of 15, attending the Millbrook School and winning three state championships. The 2018 MLS SuperDraft was the nineteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. As customary, the SuperDraft was held in conjunction with the annual United Soccer Coaches convention.
