Richmond, Virginia, held a general election on November 8, 2016. Voters elected the List of mayors of Richmond, Virginia, Mayor of Richmond, Virginia, members of the Richmond City Council (Richmond, Virginia), Richmond City Council, as well as several Richmond, Virginia City Council elections, 2016, other local officials. In an officially nonpartisan, three-way race, Levar Stoney, the former state Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Secretary of the Commonwealth defeated Jack Berry, former Hanover County, Virginia, Hanover County Administrator, and Joe Morrissey, former delegate of the Virginia House of Delegates. United States Senate Election In Virginia, 2014
The 2014 United States Senate election in Virginia was held on November 4, 2014, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the Commonwealth of Virginia, concurrently with other elections to the United States Senate, elections to the United States House of Representatives, and various state and local elections. Incumbent Democratic Senator Mark Warner ran for re-election to a second term. He was unopposed for the Democratic nomination. The Republicans nominated lobbyist and former chairman of the Republican National Committee Ed Gillespie. Also running was Libertarian nominee Robert Sarvis, an attorney and businessman. Although Warner had been consistently leading Gillespie by double-digit margins in polls before October, the race was much closer than expected, with Warner winning by a margin of just 0.8% and 17,727 votes. Terry McAuliffe
Terence Richard McAuliffe (born February 9, 1957) is an American businessman and politician who served as the 72nd governor of Virginia from 2014 to 2018. A member of the Democratic Party, he was co-chairman of President Bill Clinton's 1996 reelection campaign, chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2001 to 2005 and chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign. Ukrop's is an American company that operates a central bakery and kitchen producing baked goods and prepared meals. Its baked goods are marketed under Good Meadow and Ukrop's brand. In 1976 Ukrop's bought Dot's Pastry Shop, a well-known bakery in Richmond. It used the name Dot's Pastry Shop for years before changing it to Ukrop's Bakery.
