2016 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy
The 2016 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 36th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. It was held between 10 and 17 June 2016 in London, United Kingdom. Australia won the tournament for a record fourteenth time after defeating India 3–1 in the final on a penalty shoot-out after a 0–0 draw. Host city change When the FIH unveiled the event hosts for the 2015–2018 cycle, Argentina was chosen to host this tournament for the first time. After the success of the 2012–13 Women's World League Final played in San Miguel de Tucumán, in early 2015 this city was announced as the host for the 2016 edition of the Champions Trophy. However, in March 2016, the FIH had to terminate all contractual agreements with Argentina as the Argentine Hockey Confederation was unable to fulfil their contractual obligations in regards to television rights, sponsorship and the hosting of events. The 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Challenge was held from 26 April to 4 May 2014 in Kuantan, Malaysia. The tournament doubled as the qualifier to the 2016 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy, 2016 Champions Trophy as the winner earned an automatic berth to compete. South Korea men's national field hockey team, South Korea won the tournament for the first time after defeating Canada men's national field hockey team, Canada 4–0 in the final, earning an automatic berth at the 2016 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy, 2016 Champions Trophy after their absence in the previous two editions. Arthur Georges Stanislas Henri Van Doren (born 1 October 1994) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a defender for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Bloemendaal and the Belgium national team. Sébastien Dockier (born 28 December 1989) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Pinoké. Dockier comes from a real hockey family; not only his father and sister but even aunts and cousins have been playing field hockey. Club career During his youth, he played for Royal Beerschot THC, where he played in the first team until 2014, when he left to play for Dutch club HC Den Bosch.
