2013 Maryland Terrapins Men's Soccer Team
The 2013 Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team was the college's 68th season of playing organized men's college soccer. The Terrapins played in the Atlantic Coast Conference where they emerged as the regular season and tournament champions. The Terrapins finished the season as the NCAA runner-up, losing the college cup final to Notre Dame. Maryland Terrapins Men's Soccer
The Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team represents the University of Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college soccer competition. The program has won four NCAA Division I College Cup national championships (1968, 2005, 2008, 2018). Maryland won nineteen Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular season championships (1953–68, 1971, 2012, 2013) and six ACC tournament championships (1996, 2002, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013) before joining the Big Ten Conference on July 1, 2014. The Terps won the 2014, 2016, and 2022 Big Ten Conference men's soccer championships and the 2014 and 2015 men's soccer tournament titles. History Maryland fielded its first varsity soccer team in 1946. It was coached by Doyle Royal, who remained in that position through 1973. Tsubasa Endoh
is a Japanese professional footballer. College career Endoh played four years with Maryland Terrapins at the University of Maryland. In 2016, he attended the MLS Combine for draft-eligible players ahead of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, where he was named MVP. Career Endoh was drafted as the ninth overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC and signed with the club on 27 February 2016. He made his professional debut on 6 March 2016 against the New York Red Bulls. He scored his first MLS goal on 7 May 2016, in Toronto FC's home opener against FC Dallas, at the newly renovated BMO Field, which ended in a 1–0 victory. At the end of 2017, he was released by the club, who declined to exercise their contract option on him. Steve Birnbaum
Steven Mitchell Birnbaum (born January 23, 1991) is an American professional soccer player who is captain of and plays as a center-back for D.C. United. Birnbaum started every game for D.C. United in the 2018 season. In 2018 he played every minute in all 34 regular season games, and led Major League Soccer in total clearances, headed clearances, and aerials won, and in 2019 he again led the league in headed clearances and aerials won. Dan Metzger
Daniel James Metzger (born March 9, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder. Career Early career Metzger was a member of the Players Development Academy for two years before joining the New York Red Bulls Academy in 2010. He also spent four years at the University of Maryland between 2011 and 2014. In his four years with the Terrapins he made 88 appearances and scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists.
