2004 United States Presidential Election In Indiana
The 2004 United States presidential election in Indiana took place on November 2, 2004, and was part of the 2004 United States presidential election. Voters chose 11 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president. Indiana was won by incumbent President George W. Bush by a 20.68% margin of victory. Prior to the election, all 12 news organizations considered this a state Bush would win, or otherwise considered as a safe red state, even though Democratic Senator Evan Bayh overwhelmingly won re-election on the same Ballot. The Hoosier State had not voted Democratic in a presidential election since 1964, but would buck this trend 4 years later by voting for Senator Barack Obama of neighboring Illinois. The 2004 Indiana Democratic presidential primary was held on May 4 in the U.S. state of Indiana as one of the Democratic Party's statewide nomination contests ahead of the 2004 presidential election. Benjamin Harrison
Benjamin Harrison (August 20, 1833March 13, 1901) was an American lawyer and politician who served as the 23rd president of the United States from 1889 to 1893. He was a member of the Harrison family of Virginia–a grandson of the ninth president, William Henry Harrison, and a great-grandson of Benjamin Harrison V, a founding father.
