2025–26 I Liga
The 2025–26 I liga (also known as Betclic I liga for sponsorship reasons) will be the 78th season of the second tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949 and the 18th season of the Polish I liga under its current title. The league is operated by the PZPN. Season overview The season will start on 18 July 2025 and go into the winter break after the 19th matchday on 6 December. With the 20th matchday, the season will continue on 7 February 2026. The final 34th matchday is scheduled for 24 May 2026. The regular season is being played as a round-robin tournament. A total of 18 teams participate, 12 of which competed in the league campaign during the previous season, while three to be relegated from the 2024–25 Ekstraklasa and the remaining three to be promoted from the 2024–25 II liga. I Liga
I liga (, ), currently named Betclic I liga due to its sponsorship by Betclic, is the men's second professional association football division of the Polish football league system, below the Ekstraklasa and above the II liga via promotion/relegation systems. It is run by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) since its inception on 30 May 1948. The league was renamed from Second League (II liga) to First League (I liga) in 2008. OKS Odra Opole Spółka Akcyjna () is a association football, football club based in Opole, Poland, currently playing in the I liga. History Beginnings The history of Odra Opole began on 16 June 1945, when in the Opole Town Hall, a group of sports officials gathered to form a new Polish sports organisation. Under first chairman, lawyer Leonard Olejnik, Odra organised first post-WWII sports competition in the city: street running (July 1945). In 1948, Odra merged with Lwowianka Opole and Chrobry Groszowice, and in 1948–1958, the club was called Budowlani Opole. By 1950, Budowlani had several departments, including football, track and field, tennis, boxing, ice hockey and volleyball. Miedź Legnica () is a professional football club based in Legnica, Poland, that competes in the I liga, following relegation in 2023. Miedź was founded in 1971. In 2018, Miedź Legnica achieved promotion to the top flight for the first time in club's history. GKS Tychy is a Polish professional football club, based in Tychy, that competes in the Polish I liga. The club was founded in 1971. It played in the Ekstraklasa between 1974–1977 and 1995–1997. The (; Polish for 'anchor') was an emblem of the Polish Underground State and (AK; 'Home Army') used during World War II. It was created in 1942 by members of the Wawer minor sabotage unit within the AK, as an easily usable emblem for the struggle to regain the country's independence.
