2025 Italian Open – Women's Singles
Jasmine Paolini defeated Coco Gauff in the final, 6–4, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2025 Italian Open. It was her second WTA 1000 and third career WTA Tour singles title. Paolini was the second Italian woman in the History of tennis#Open Era, Open Era to win the Italian Open (tennis), Italian Open singles title, after Raffaella Reggi in 1985 Italian Open – Women's singles, 1985. The final was also a rematch of the 2024 Italian Open – Women's doubles, doubles final from the previous year. Paolini was the first Italian woman to win both the singles and doubles titles at the tournament in the same year since Reggi in 1985, and the first woman to do so overall since Monica Seles in 1990 Italian Open (tennis), 1990. Iga Świątek was the defending champion, but lost in the third round to Danielle Collins. Jasmine Paolini (; born 4 January 1996) is an Italian professional tennis player. She is ranked world No. 4 in singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), the joint-highest-ranked Italian woman in singles (alongside Francesca Schiavone). She is a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam champion in doubles at the 2025 French Open – Women's doubles, 2025 French Open, partnering compatriot Sara Errani. Representing her country, Paolini won an Tennis at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's doubles, Olympic gold medal in doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Errani. Paolini has won three WTA Tour-level singles titles and nine in doubles, including two singles and four doubles WTA 1000 titles.
