2025 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2025 IIHF Women's World Championship was the 24th edition of the IIHF Women's World Championship, an international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), contested in České Budějovice, Czech Republic from 9 to 20 April 2025 at the Budvar Arena. 2007 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2007 IIHF Women's World Championships were held from April 3 to 10, 2007 in Winnipeg and Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. There were no championships in 2006 due to the Torino Olympic tournament. Games were played at the MTS Centre and Selkirk Recreation Complex. It was the tenth event, and it was run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Canada, led by tournament MVP Hayley Wickenheiser, won its record-extending ninth world championship by defeating the USA 5–1 in the gold medal game. Following Sweden's historic Silver in the Olympics they captured their second world championship Bronze, blanking rival Finland 1–0. This championship was the first women's to have over one hundred thousand attendees, and it held the record for attendance until 2025. Kelly Pannek
Kelly Pannek (born December 29, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey player for the Minnesota Frost of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She previously played in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association. Career In high school, she set the state record for the quickest natural hat trick, scoring three goals in 22 seconds in a 2012 game. Across 157 games for the University of Minnesota in the NCAA, Pannek put up 186 points. In 2017, she was a Patty Kazmaier Award Finalist after scoring 62 points in 39 games and winning the national championship for the second year in a row. Grace Zumwinkle (born April 23, 1999) is an American ice hockey player for the Minnesota Frost of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota. She represented the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Laila Edwards (born January 25, 2004) is an American college ice hockey player for the University of Wisconsin and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Early life Edwards left her hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, to attend Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York, at the age of 13. During the 2021–22 season, she recorded 38 goals and 59 assists for the under-19 team at Bishop Kearney. Hayley Scamurra (born December 14, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey player for the Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Elisa Holopainen (born 27 December 2001) is a Finnish ice hockey winger for Frölunda HC of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and member of the Finnish national team. Petra Nieminen (born 4 May 1999) is a Finnish ice hockey player for Luleå HF/MSSK of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and alternate captain of Finland women's national ice hockey team. Aerin Frankel (born May 24, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was one of the best goaltenders in women's NCAA history. She won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2021.
