The 2025 Ballon d'Or will be the 69th annual ceremony of the Ballon d'Or, presented by ''France Football'', recognising the best footballers in the world in the 2024–25 season. For the fourth time in the history of the award, it will be given based on the results of the season instead of the calendar year. This is the period from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025. Lamine Yamal
Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana (born 13 July 2007) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a winger for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team. Known for his flair, chance creation, and long-distance curling goals, Yamal is regarded as one of the best players in the world. Yamal was a member of the youth academy, La Masia, before breaking into the Barcelona first team squad in the 2023–24 season. The 2024 Ballon d'Or was the 68th annual ceremony of the Ballon d'Or. It was presented by ''France Football'' that recognized the best footballers in the world in the 2023–24 season. The Gerd Müller Trophy, previously known as Striker of the Year or Best Striker Award in its first edition, is a football award presented annually by ''France Football'' to the highest-scoring footballer in the previous season, taking into account goals scored for both European clubs and national teams. It was established in 2021, taking into account that calendar year (while, from the second edition, the award is based on the number of goals scored throughout a season).
