2024–25 West Virginia Mountaineers Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represented West Virginia University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mountaineers were coached by first year head coach Darian DeVries, and played their home games at the WVU Coliseum located in Morgantown, West Virginia as members of the Big 12 Conference. Despite improving upon their 9–23 record from the previous season, the Mountaineers failed to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season. After one season at the helm, DeVries would depart the West Virginia program to become head coach at Indiana. Previous season The Mountaineers finished the 2023–24 season 9–23, 4–14 in Big 12 Play to finish in a tie for last place. They lost in the first round of the Big 12 tournament to Cincinnati. Darian DeVries
Darian Dale DeVries (born April 7, 1975) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head men's basketball coach at Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana. He was previously the head coach at Drake Bulldogs men's basketball, Drake University from 2018 to 2024 and at West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball, West Virginia during the 2024–25 season. Early life DeVries was born and raised in Aplington, Iowa. The oldest of five siblings, he played basketball and football at Aplington High School for three years before graduating from the merged Aplington-Parkersburg High School in 1993. Kerr Kriisa (born 2 January 2001) is an Estonian college basketball player for the Cincinnati Bearcats. He previously played for the Arizona Wildcats, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and the Kentucky Wildcats. Listed at and , he plays the point guard position. A native of Tartu, he has competed with Estonian junior national teams on multiple occasions. The Akron Zips men's basketball team represents the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, Akron, Ohio. The team currently competes in the Mid-American Conference East division.
