2024–25 Vanderbilt Commodores Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represented Vanderbilt University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by first-year head coach Mark Byington and played their home games at Memorial Gymnasium located in Nashville, Tennessee as a member of the Southeastern Conference. Previous season The Commodores finished the 2023–24 season 9–23, 4–14 in SEC play, to finish in 13th place. They lost in the first round of the SEC tournament to Arkansas. Mark Byington
Mark Byington (born April 22, 1976) is an American basketball coach and former player who is currently the head men's basketball coach at Vanderbilt University. He previously served as the head basketball coach at James Madison University. High school playing career Mark Byington played high school basketball at Salem High School (Salem, Virginia), Salem High School located in Salem, Virginia. He led the Salem Spartans coached by former Dobyns-Bennett High School, Dobyns-Bennett head coach Charlie Morgan to a 26–1 record in the 1993–94 season and to the Group AA state championship defeating Louisa County. His #32 jersey has since been retired by Salem High School along with #11 Richard Morgan, who was an All-American. Tasos Kamateros (; born May 19, 2000) is a Greek professional basketball player for Doxa Lefkadas of the Greek A2 Basket League. Standing at tall, he plays at the power forward position. Early life Kamateros was born in Athens, Greece. He played in amateur leagues with Proteas Voulas, before being recruited from South Dakota in 2019. College career Kamateros played college basketball with South Dakota Coyotes. Despite being a power forwards, he was regarded as one of the best three point shooters for the Coyotes. The Texas Longhorns men's basketball team represents the University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I College basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball competition.
