2024–25 UC San Diego Tritons Women's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 UC San Diego Tritons women's basketball team represents the University of California, San Diego during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Tritons, led by 13th-year head coach Heidi VanDerveer, play their home games at LionTree Arena in La Jolla, California, as members of the Big West Conference. This is the first year the team will be eligible for the NCAA tournament, as UC San Diego has officially completed their four-year mandatory transition to Division I sports. Previous season The Tritons finished the 2023–24 season 12–19, 8–12 in Big West play to finish in a tie for seventh place. Heidi VanDerveer
Heidi Elizabeth VanDerveer (born February 11, 1964) is a women's basketball collegiate and professional coach. She is currently the women's basketball head coach at UC San Diego. A native of Chautauqua, New York, VanDerveer was a four-year letter-winner in basketball at the College of Charleston, serving as team captain as a senior and graduating with a bachelor's degree in political science and English in 1986. She also has a master's degree in physical education and sports psychology from the University of Tennessee. VanDerveer began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Tennessee under Pat Summitt, where she helped guide the Volunteers to the 1987 NCAA National Championship and the Final Four in 1988. She then served as an assistant at South Carolina for six seasons, before taking the head coaching role at Eastern Washington. Chatfield High School is a high school located in Ken Caryl, an unincorporated area of Jefferson County near Littleton, Colorado, United States. The Pepperdine Waves women's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, United States. The school's team currently competes in the West Coast Conference. The team's last appearance in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was in 2006. The Idaho Vandals women's basketball team represents the University of Idaho in women's basketball in the Big Sky Conference in NCAA Division I.
