2024–25 Stoke City F.C. Season
The 2024–25 season was Stoke City's 108th season in the Football League, the 48th in the second tier. After keeping Stoke up last season Steven Schumacher was given the summer to improve his squad for the 2024–25 campaign, however after only five matches he was surprisingly sacked and replaced by inexperienced Spanish coach Narcís Pèlach. This proved to be a poor decision as he only won three of his 19 matches in charge leading to his dismissal in December. Former Coventry City manager Mark Robins took over and he was able to keep Stoke up on the final day finishing two points above the relegation zone in 18th position. Pre-season The day after the end of the 2023–24 season Stoke announced that Tyrese Campbell, Ciaran Clark and Wesley would be leaving following the end of their contracts whilst Jordan Thompson had his extended by one-year. Ben Gibson
Benjamin James Gibson (born 15 January 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for and captains club Stoke City. Having graduated from Middlesbrough's Academy, Gibson had loan spells with Plymouth Argyle, York City and Tranmere Rovers before breaking into the club's first team in 2013. he was part of the Middlesbrough team that secured promotion to the Premier League in 2015–16 and the following year earned his first call-up to the England national team. He moved to Burnley in August 2018 for a fee of £15 million. His time at Turf Moor was unsuccessful and after making a handful of appearances he left for Norwich City in September 2020. Jared Dublin (born 14 February 1992) is an American association football analyst and scout who is the current sporting director of EFL Championship club Hull City. He has previously worked in similar roles at Sheffield United, Reading, and Stoke City. Biography Dublin is American. Between 2010 and 2013, he studied Sociology at UC Berkeley. After graduating, he worked firstly for SoftLayer and later Google, spending both jobs stationed in San Francisco. Rotherham ( ) is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. Viktor Tobias Johansson (born 14 September 1998) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Stoke City and the Sweden national team. A product of the Hammarby and Aston Villa academies, Johansson spent two years at Premier League side Leicester City F.C., Leicester City but only appeared in EFL Trophy matches for their U21 side. Jordan Andrew Thompson (born 3 January 1997) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Preston North End and the Northern Ireland national team. Thompson began his career with Rangers after progressing through the youth teams at Manchester United. Ciaran Clark (born 26 September 1989) is a professional footballer who plays for Baller League club Trebol FC. In eleven-a-side football, he operates as a centre-back, central midfielder or left-back. Clark is a product of the Aston Villa Academy and made 159 appearances for their senior side before transferring to Newcastle in 2016. Tyrese Kai Campbell (born 28 December 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Sheffield United. Previously a youth player at Manchester City, he began his senior career at Stoke City, where he played 164 games and scored 36 goals.
