2024–25 Rutgers Scarlet Knights Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Rutgers Scarlet Knights men's basketball team represented Rutgers University–New Brunswick during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Scarlet Knights were led by ninth-year head coach Steve Pikiell and played their home games at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway, New Jersey as members of the Big Ten Conference. Following the team's loss in the Big Ten Tournament, they announced that they would not play in any postseason tournament. Previous season The Scarlet Knights finished the 2023–24 season 15–17, 7–13 in Big Ten play to finish a tie for 12th place. Steve Pikiell
Stephen Christopher Pikiell ( ; born November 21, 1967) is an American college basketball coach and since March 16, 2016, the head men's basketball coach at Rutgers Scarlet Knights men's basketball, Rutgers. Prior to Rutgers, Pikiell was the head coach at Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball, Stony Brook for over a decade, leading the Seawolves to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016. In 2021, Pikiell led Rutgers to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 30 years. Early years and playing career Pikiell was born and raised in Bristol, Connecticut, and was one of nine children and graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol in 1986. At the University of Connecticut, Pikiell worked as a point guard, two-year captain and four-year letterwinner for the Connecticut Huskies men's basketball, Huskies from 1987 to 1991. The BYU Cougars men's basketball team represents Brigham Young University in NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA Division I basketball play. It currently competes in the Big 12 Conference. Established in 1902, the team has won 27 conference championships, 3 conference tournament championships and 2 National Invitation Tournament, NIT Tournaments (1951 and 1966), and competed in 32 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA tournaments. The Miami RedHawks men's basketball team — known as the Miami Redskins until 1997 — is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Miami University. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The RedHawks play home basketball games at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio on the university campus. Clifford Omoruyi
Clifford Iyobosa Omoruyi (born 11 October 2001) is a Nigerian basketball player. He played college basketball for the Alabama Crimson Tide and Rutgers Scarlet Knights of the Big Ten Conference. Early life and high school career Omoruyi grew up in Benin City, Nigeria and played soccer. Standing , he received attention from basketball scouts who stated he could earn a scholarship overseas. At the age of 14, Omoruyi moved to the United States to attend Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, New Jersey. Muhammad Oliver, a friend of Omoruyi's brother Aldred, and his wife offered to serve as his host family. Omoruyi also began playing basketball shortly after his arrival, initially against Oliver's son and then in AAU events. The Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team competes as part of NCAA Division I, representing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference.
