2024–25 Perth Wildcats Season
The 2024–25 Perth Wildcats season was the 44th season of the franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL), and their third under the leadership of head coach John Rillie. On 17 September 2024, Rillie signed a three-year contract extension with the Wildcats to remain as head coach until the end of the 2027–28 season. Hyrum Harris
Hyrum Tipene Harris (born 3 June 1996) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the Wellington Saints of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). He is also contracted with the Kanazawa Samuraiz of the Japanese B.League. Early life Harris was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and raised in Hamilton. He grew up playing soccer and rugby league. Professional career NZNBL (2015–2019) After playing for the Super City Rangers during the 2015 New Zealand NBL season, Harris relocated to the United States to play college basketball for the Umpqua Community College in Oregon during the 2015–16 season. He played for the Rangers in 2016 and 2017 before joining the Hawke's Bay Hawks in 2018. In 2019, Harris played for the Southland Sharks, where he averaged 11 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists on an average of 26 minutes a game across 19 games that season. 2024–25 Tasmania JackJumpers Season
The 2024–25 Tasmania JackJumpers season was the 4th season for the franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL). As reigning NBL champions, the JackJumpers competed in the 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, becoming the first team from Oceania to play in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Tasmania finished third, after defeating Al Riyadi from Lebanon in the third place game. Gold Coast Sports Centre
Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre is a multi-purpose arena and sports facility located at Carrara on Queensland's Gold Coast in Australia, capable of seating 5,000 fans. The centre is located adjacent to the Carrara Indoor Stadium and forms a part of the Gold Coast Sports Precinct. A section of the centre also serves as a sports administration and indoor training facility for the Gold Coast Suns with the facility being called the Austworld Centre under a naming rights partnership, who play home matches and train outdoors at the adjacent Carrara Stadium and training oval. Constructed for use in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre hosted badminton, powerlifting, weightlifting and wrestling competitions. Carrara Indoor Stadium
Carrara Indoor Stadium is a multi-purpose arena located at Carrara on Queensland's Gold Coast and can accommodate 1,600 fans, with additional seating provided if required, which can push the total capacity for events such as basketball up to 2,962. The stadium stands adjacent to the 25,000-seat Metricon Stadium and forms part of the Carrara Sports Complex. The stadium has the nickname The Greenhouse, as even during winter it would get "hot and steamy as Hades at times", although that changed with $800,000 worth of improvements in 1996, including new air conditioning. The stadium was the home of the former National Basketball League team, the Gold Coast Rollers, who played there from 1990 until 1996, after which their licence was revoked due to financial struggles. David Okwera
Wena David Okwera (born 31 July 2002) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Franklin Bulls of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). He is also contracted with the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL). In 2021, he debuted for Melbourne United in the NBL and debuted for the Australian Boomers in international competition. Early life and career Okwera was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. He has a South Sudanese background. He was given the nickname 'D-Sav' in high school. He played junior basketball at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre and with the Joondalup Wolves. Keanu Pinder
Keanu Tecumseh Pinder (born 28 May 1995) is an Australian professional basketball player who last played for the Shanxi Loongs of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for Hutchinson Community College and the Arizona Wildcats. Early life and career Pinder was born in Derby, Western Australia. He grew up in Derby before moving to Perth at age 10 for school. As a youth, he played both basketball and Australian rules football.
