2024–25 Ohio State Buckeyes Women's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team represented Ohio State University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Buckeyes were led by head coach Kevin McGuff in his 12th season and played their home games at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Previous season The Buckeyes finished the 2023–24 season with a 26–6 record, including 16–2 in Big Ten play to finish in first place. As the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten tournament, they would get a double bye to the quarterfinals where they would lose to the No. 8 seed Maryland which would eliminate them from the tournament. They would receive an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, where they would beat the No. 15 seed Maine in the first round, before losing to the No. 7 seed Duke in the Second round ending their season. Kevin McGuff
Kevin Patrick McGuff (born December 3, 1969) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head women's basketball coach at Ohio State University after spending two seasons as head coach of the University of Washington. Prior to his time in Seattle, McGuff was the head coach at Xavier University until April 2011. Coaching career McGuff began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Miami University where the Lady Hawks went 54–30 during his tenure in Oxford, Ohio. He served as an assistant coach at Notre Dame. During his six years as an Irish assistant coach under Muffet McGraw, Notre Dame went 160–39, including a national title in 2001. Xavier University McGuff spent nine seasons at Xavier, compiling an overall record of 213–73, giving him the most wins of any Xavier women's coach. The Michigan State Spartans women's basketball team is the intercollegiate women's basketball program representing Michigan State University.
