2024–25 Northern Iowa Panthers Women's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Northern Iowa Panthers women's basketball team represented the University of Northern Iowa during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Panthers, led by 18th-year head coach Tanya Warren, played their home games at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa as members of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The Panthers finished the season 17–17, 11–9 in MVC play, to finish in sixth place. Previous season The Panthers finished the 2022–23 season 23–10, 16–4 in MVC play, to finish in fourth place. In the MVC tournament, they defeated Illinois State in the quarterfinals before falling to top-seeded Drake in the semifinals. They received an invitation to the WNIT, where they fell at Saint Louis. Tanya Warren
Tanya Warren (born 1965) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa. Early life and education Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Warren graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School (Des Moines, Iowa), Abraham Lincoln High School in 1983, then played basketball at Creighton Bluejays women's basketball, Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska from 1984 to 1988 at guard (basketball), guard, after redshirting her freshman year. At Creighton, among Warren's teammates was Connie Yori, who would later coach at Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball, Nebraska. Warren averaged 13.9 points and 3.2 rebounds as a redshirt freshman in 1984–85. Warren averaged 14.6 points and 3.0 rebounds as a sophomore, 18.7 points and 3.8 rebounds as a junior, and 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.8 rebounds as a senior in a season where she only played 10 games.
