2024–25 Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2024–25 Mid-American Conference men's basketball season will be the season for Mid-American Conference men's basketball teams. It will begin with practices in October 2024, followed by the start of the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play will begin in January 2024 and conclude in March 2024. The 2025 MAC tournament will be held at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio for the 26th consecutive season. This will be the conference's last season with 12 members as it will see its first change in membership since 2005 with the addition of UMass. Akron won the regular season championship with a 17–1 conference record. Nate Johnson of Akron was player of the year. Akron defeated Bowling Green and Toledo in the MAC tournament and then Miami in the final Nate Johnson of Akron was the MVP. John Groce
John Gordon Groce (; born September 7, 1971) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach for the Akron Zips men's basketball team. Prior to coaching for Akron, he was the head coach at Illinois and Ohio. Coaching career Player and assistant coach Groce graduated from Taylor University, an NAIA Division II school in Upland, Indiana, in 1994 and played basketball for the school while he was there. Groce started his coaching career as an assistant with his alma mater, Taylor University, under Paul Patterson from 1993 to 1996. Rob Senderoff
Robert Andrew Senderoff (born July 25, 1973) is the head men's basketball coach at Kent State University. The winningest and longest-tenured coach in program history, he has led the Flashes to a Mid-American Conference regular season title as well as NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2023. Personal and early life Senderoff is a native of Spring Valley, New York. He played basketball for his high school team. Anthony Michael Barbee (born August 10, 1971) is an American college basketball coach, who was most recently the head coach at the Central Michigan Chippewas men's basketball, Central Michigan. George Halcovage
George Halcovage III (born January 13, 1986) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head men's coach for the Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team. Playing career From 2004 to 2008, Halcovage played college basketball at Babson.
