2024–25 Mansfield Town F.C. Season
The 2024–25 season was the 128th season in the history of Mansfield Town Football Club and their first season back in League One, the third-tier of English football, since the 2002–03 season following their promotion from League Two in the previous season. In addition to the domestic league, the club would also participate in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, and the EFL Trophy. Mansfield Town F
Mansfield is a market town and the administrative centre of the Mansfield District in Nottinghamshire, England. It is the largest town in the wider Mansfield Urban Area and the second largest settlement in Nottinghamshire (following the city of Nottingham). Henry III granted Mansfield the Royal Charter of a market town in 1227. The town lies in the Maun Valley, north of Nottingham. The district had a population of 110,500 at the 2021 census. Mansfield is the one local authority in Nottinghamshire with a publicly elected mayor, the Mayor of Mansfield. Alfie Kilgour
Alfie George Alexander Kilgour (born 18 May 1998) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for club Mansfield Town. He will join Bristol Rovers on 1 July 2025. Career Bristol Rovers Kilgour began his career in the academy at Bristol Rovers aged eight, and first featured in the matchday squad for the first team while still an under-18, twice appearing as an unused substitute for EFL League Two games in the 2015–16 season. In February 2016, Kilgour was loaned to Mangotsfield United. After promotion that season, with first team opportunities hard to come by, he was loaned out again, this time to Cirencester Town in September 2016. Elliott Jack Hewitt (born 30 May 1994) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays for club Mansfield Town. He can play in a variety of different positions, including right-back, centre-back, winger or central midfield. He is known for his versatility and pace. He began his career at Macclesfield Town, where he graduated from the club's youth system. He joined Ipswich Town in 2012. Stephen Antony McLaughlin (born 14 June 1990) is an Irish footballer who plays for club Mansfield Town as a defender. Career Early years McLaughlin began his career at his local club St. Mary's, and played all his under-age football for the club. In 2006, he signed for Clonmany Shamrocks senior side of the Inishowen Football League, and was successful during his first spell in junior football. Christy James Pym (born 24 April 1995) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for side Grimsby Town. Club career Exeter City Pym was born in Exeter, Devon. He came through the youth ranks at his hometown club, Exeter City. Pym was captain of the under-18 team when he was handed a professional contract by manager Paul Tisdale in April 2013. The 2024–25 EFL Trophy, known as the Vertu Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 44th season in the history of the competition, and was a knock-out tournament for clubs in EFL League One and League Two, the third and fourth tiers of the English football league system, as well as the " Academy teams" of 16 Premier League teams. The 2024–25 EFL Cup was the 65th season of the English Football League Cup. It was sponsored by Carabao Energy Drink and known as the Carabao Cup for sponsorship reasons. The EFL Cup was open to all clubs participating in the Premier League and the English Football League. The winner of the competition qualified for the play-off round of the 2025–26 UEFA Conference League. 2024–25 FA Cup
The 2024–25 FA Cup was the 144th season of the Football Association Challenge Cup, the oldest football tournament in the world. It was sponsored by Emirates and known as the Emirates FA Cup for sponsorship reasons. The FA Cup is the main domestic cup competition for men's football teams in England.
