2024–25 Florida Gators Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Florida Gators men's basketball team represented the University of Florida during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gators, led by third-year head coach Todd Golden, played their home games at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida, as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). During this season, Florida experienced its most success in 11 years. Led by senior guards Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard, and Alijah Martin, Florida posted a 27–4 regular season record, finishing second in the most difficult SEC season in conference history. The Gators got off to a hot start when they finished non-conference play with a 13–0 record and No. 6 ranking in the AP Poll, which was their highest ranking in 7 years. Todd Golden
Todd Raymond Golden (born July 7, 1985) is an Israeli-American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Florida Gators men's basketball team. In the 2024–25 season, Golden led the Gators to a 36–4 record and the national championship. Early life and education Golden is from Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 2003. Golden played basketball and baseball at Sunnyslope and helped them win the 2002 Arizona 4A state championship in basketball, scoring 6 of their 62 points in a 62–61 victory. In 2003, Golden enrolled at Saint Mary's College of California, where he played guard for the Saint Mary's Gaels from 2004 to 2008. The Gaels would make appearances in the 2005 and 2008 NCAA Tournaments during his career, though he did not appear in their sole 2005 NCAA tournament game, a 65–56 loss to Southern Illinois.
