2024–25 Cincinnati Bearcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team represented the University of Cincinnati during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bearcats, led by fourth-year head coach Wes Miller, played their home games at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio as second-year members of the Big 12 Conference. Previous season The Bearcats finished the season 22–15 and 7–11 in Big 12 play to finish in 11th place in the conference standings, thus earning the 11th seed in the 2024 Big 12 Tournament. They defeated West Virginia, and Kansas in the Big 12 tournament before losing to Baylor in the quarterfinals. Wes Miller
Warren Weston Miller (born January 28, 1983) is an American basketball coach and former player, who is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Cincinnati. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, he played at the collegiate level for James Madison University and the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill, where he graduated in 2007. Professionally, Miller played for London Capital of the British Basketball League. He was previously head coach at UNC Greensboro, and served stints as an assistant coach at Elon University and High Point University. Playing career A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Miller attended New Hampton Prep in New Hampton, New Hampshire. Miller played one year at James Madison before transferring to North Carolina to play for Roy Williams, where he successfully walked on to the basketball team. 2023–24 Indiana State Sycamores Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Indiana State Sycamores men's basketball team represented Indiana State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Sycamores, led by third-year head coach Josh Schertz, played their home games at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana as members of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The team finished the season 32–7, 17–3 in MVC play to win the regular-season championship. They defeated Missouri State and Northern Iowa before losing to Drake in the MVC tournament championship game. They received a bid to the National Invitation Tournament as a No. 1 seed. John Newman III
John Edward Newman III (born August 2, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Kortrijk Spurs of the BNXT League. He previously played for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Early life and high school career Newman attended Greensboro Day School. He helped the team win three state titles, scoring 24 points and was named MVP of the NCISAA 3A State Championship game. The High Point Panthers men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents High Point University in High Point, North Carolina in NCAA Division I competition. The school's team competes in the Big South Conference. They made their first ever appearance to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2025.
