2024–25 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners men's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Roadrunners, led by 14th-year head coach Rod Barnes, played their home games at the Icardo Center located in Bakersfield, California as members of the Big West Conference. Previous season The Roadrunners finished the 2023–24 season 13–19, 8–12 in Big West play to finish in ninth place. They were defeated by UC Riverside in the first round of the Big West tournament. Rod Barnes
Rodrick Kenneth Barnes (born January 8, 1966) is an American college basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at California State University, Bakersfield, a position he has held since 2011. Barnes held the same position at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) from 1998 to 2006 and Georgia State University from 2007 to 2011. Playing and early coaching career Barnes played college basketball at the University of Mississippi of the NCAA Division I's Southeastern Conference from 1985 to 1988. He earned All-SEC and All-America honorable mention honors in 1988. Barnes earned his business administration degree in 1989 and left Ole Miss to become an assistant coach at Livingston University in 1990. In 1993, Barnes returned to Ole Miss to serve as an assistant coach to Rob Evans. The Cal State Northridge Matadors men's basketball team is the men's college basketball program representing California State University, Northridge. The team currently competes in the Big West Conference of the NCAA's Division I. The Matadors' current head coach is Andy Newman. History Until 1972, the school and its teams were known as San Fernando Valley State College. The Matadors played their home games at local high schools until Matador Gymnasium was completed, before the start of the 1962–63 season. College of the Sequoias (COS) is a public two-year community college in Visalia, California. The college is named for the Giant Sequoia trees native to the nearby Sierra Nevada mountain range.
