2024–25 Birmingham City F.C. Season
The 2024–25 season is Birmingham City Football Club's 122nd season in the English football league system and first season in the third-tier EFL League One since 1994–95. They finished in 22nd place in the 2023–24 EFL Championship, and were relegated after 13 years at that level. The team confirmed promotion back to the Championship with six League One matches still to play, and Wrexham's failure to beat Wigan Athletic a few days later confirmed them as champions. It was Birmingham's first league title since winning the old Second Division in 1994–95. Jay Stansfield (born 24 November 2002) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Birmingham City. He began his football career with Exeter City, joined Fulham as a 16-year-old, and spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Exeter City. Garry Cook (executive)
Garry Cook is a British sports executive. He worked for Manchester City between 2008 and 2011, Nike between 1996 and 2008, and for UFC between 2012 and 2016. In January 2023, Cook was appointed the executive president and CEO of the Saudi Professional League. He was CEO of Birmingham City F.C. from July 2023 to January 2025. Wigan Athletic Football Club is a professional association football club based in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. The team competes in the EFL League One, the third level of the English football league system. English Football League System
The English football league system, also known as the football pyramid, is a series of interconnected leagues for men's association football clubs in England, with five teams from Wales, one from Guernsey, one from Jersey and one from the Isle of Man also competing. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, allowing even the smallest club the theoretical possibility of ultimately rising to the very top of the system, the Premier League.
