2024 Women's International Festival Of Hockey
The 2024 Women's International Festival of Hockey was the third edition of the International Festival of Hockey. The tournament took place in Perth, Australia, from 20 to 28 April 2024. The national teams of Australia, China and Japan competed in the tournament, with the addition of a development team from Australia. China won the tournament, finishing top of the pool at the conclusion of the round-robin tournament. Australia finished in second place, followed by the Australian Development Squad and Japan. Amy Lawton
Amy Rose Lawton (born 19 January 2002) is an Australian field hockey player. Personal life Amy Lawton was born in Worthing, England before relocating to Emerald, Victoria at the age of 7 with her parents and younger sister, Josie. She began playing hockey at nine years of age for her local club Casey, before moving to Cheltenham-based Southern United Hockey Club two years later. As well as hockey, Lawton also plays soccer and competes in triathlons, and has made representative teams for Victoria in all three sports. Lawton is a current scholarship holder at the Victorian Institute of Sport. Career Junior national teams Under 18 In 2018, Lawton made her debut for the Australian Under 18 team at the Oceania Youth Olympic Games Qualifier in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Karri Somerville (born 7 April 1999) is an Australian field hockey player. Personal life Karri Somerville was born in Kensington, Western Australia. She was a student at All Saint's College in Bull Creek, Western Australia, from where she graduated in 2016. Somerville is a current scholarship holder at the Western Australian Institute of Sport. Career Junior In 2016, Somerville was a member of the Australian women's junior national team ' The Jillaroos' that won bronze at the 2016 Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile. Indoor Somerville made her debut for the Australian indoor hockey team in 2018, at the Indoor World Cup in Berlin, Germany. Jocelyn Bartram
Jocelyn Margaret Bartram (born 4 May 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. She plays as a goalkeeper for the Australian women's national field hockey team. Early life and education Jocelyn Bartram is from Albury, Australia. Bartram was an active child, playing field hockey, soccer, water polo, basketball and tennis during her youth. Her mother, father and brother also played hockey. Bartram commenced her studies focusing on Sports Science through University of Technology, Sydney. More recently she has transferred her sports science studies to Edith Cowan University in Perth, in conjunction with her move to Perth for her permanent placement in the Hockeyroos squad. Jane Claxton
Jane Claxton (born 26 October 1992) is an Australian field hockey player for Australia. Claxton was a member of the Australia women's national field hockey team that were defeated by the Netherlands women's national field hockey team in the final of the 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup, a Gold Medal winner at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and member of the team that went to the 2016 Summer Olympics. She was also named captain of the Hockeyroos in November 2016 for the Trans-Tasman Trophy against New Zealand. Lucy Sharman (born 24 May 2003) is an Australian field hockey player. Personal life Lucy Sharman grew up in the locality of Kalangadoo in South Australia. Sharman was a student at Pembroke School. Career Domestic league In Hockey Australia's domestic league, the JDH Hockey One, Sharman is a member of the Adelaide Fire. Kaitlin Nobbs
Kaitlin Nobbs (born 24 September 1997) is an Australian field hockey player. She has played for the Australian national team, the Hockeyroos. Early life Nobbs is the daughter of Australian field hockey players Michael Nobbs and Lee Capes. Her father played in the 1984 Summer Olympics and coached the Indian men's team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, while her mother won the gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Her aunt Michelle Capes and uncle Mark Hager also represented Australia at field hockey at the Olympics. Nobbs has an older sister, Jaimee, who is a competitive figure skater. Stephanie "Steph" Kershaw (born 19 April 1995) is an Australian field hockey player. Personal life Kershaw was born in Townsville, Queensland. She plays hockey for her home state in the Australian Hockey League, as part of the Queensland Scorchers team. Career Senior national team Kershaw made her senior international debut in a test series against Korea in September 2015. Following her debut in September, Kershaw was part of the Australian team that won the 2015 Oceania Cup in October. Harriet 'Hattie' Ngaire Shand (born 11 January 2000) is an Australian field hockey player, who plays as a defender. Personal life Hattie Shand was born in Naracoorte, South Australia and grew up in Langkoop, Victoria near Apsley, Victoria. She attended Naracoorte Primary School and Naracoorte High School, she currently studies part-time at the University of Adelaide. She is of Australian and Maori heritage. Greta Hayes (born 17 October 1996) is an Australian field hockey player. Career Junior National Team Hayes first represented Australia's Under 21 side, the Jillaroos, at the 2016 Junior Oceania Cup. Alice Arnott (born 25 February 1998) is a field hockey player from Australia, who plays as a forward. Personal life Alice Arnott was born and raised in Scone but progressed to play Hockey in Tamworth, New South Wales. Alice's boyfriend, Tom Craig, is a member of the Kookaburras, the Australian men's national field hockey team.
