2024 US Open – Boys' Singles
Rafael Jódar defeated Nicolai Budkov Kjær in the final, 2–6, 6–2, 7–6(10–1), to win the boys' singles title at the 2024 US Open. Jódar was the third Spanish player in four years to win the boys' singles title, after Daniel Rincón in 2021 and Martín Landaluce in 2022. João Fonseca was the reigning champion, but chose to compete only in the Men's singles qualifying event, where he lost to Eliot Spizzirri in the qualifying competition. Rafael Jódar (born 17 September 2006) is a Spanish tennis player. He has a career high singles ranking of No. 554 achieved on 30 June 2025. He won the boys' singles title at the 2024 US Open. Career 2024 He won an U18 grass tournament in Roehampton in June 2024 prior to a run in the juniors at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships that saw him became the last surviving Spaniard in the competition and included a convincing straight sets victory over Tomasz Berkieta for the loss of only three games. He lost in the quarter finals of the singles to Japanese player Naoya Honda. He also reached the quarter finals of the boys doubles playing alongside compatriot Andreas Santamaria Roig before they lost to Czech pair Jan Kumstát and Jan Klimas. He reached the final of the boys' singles at the 2024 US Open with a victory over second seed Kaylan Bigun in the quarter final and third seed Rei Sakamoto in the semi final.
