2024 South American U-17 Women's Championship
The 2024 South American U-17 Women's Championship was the 8th edition of the South American U-17 Women's Championship (), the biennial international youth football championship organised by CONMEBOL for the women's under-17 national teams of South America. It was held in Paraguay from 13 to 31 March 2024. Brazil won the tournament for the third time in a row. Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador qualified for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic as the CONMEBOL representatives. Teams All ten CONMEBOL member national teams are eligible to enter the tournament. First stage Tiebreakers In the first stage, the teams are ranked according to points earned (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). The 2013 South American Under-17 Women's Football Championship is the fourth instance of the South American Under-17 Women's Football Championship. It was played from 12 to 29 September in Paraguay. The top three teams qualified to the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup to be held in Costa Rica. The tournament was won by Venezuela, winning their first title. The tournament was originally scheduled from 7 to 25 August but rescheduled in July 2013. The Venezuelan Football Federation ( or FVF) is the governing body of Association football, football in Venezuela. It was founded in 1925 and affiliated in 1952. Ypané
Ypané is a city in the Central Department of Paraguay, 27 km from Asunción. It is accessed by Routes 1 and 2. The city was founded March 23, 1538 by the Spanish Governor Domingo Martínez de Irala. Its main activities are trade and industry. Origins The original name of the indigenous people was ''Pitum'', a Guarani expression that means 'medicinal water'. The present town name of Ypané refers to one of the three streams Ypané, Potrerito, and Ytororó, which flow into the Paraguay River. Paraguay observes UTC−03:00 year-round. Until 2024, it observed UTC−04:00 for standard time (PYT) and UTC−03:00 for daylight saving time / summer time (PYST). Daylight saving time Paraguay used to observe DST under decree 1867 of March 5, 2004. DST ended on the third Sunday of March and started on the first Sunday of October. In 2010, Paraguay changed its own DST rules because of the energy crisis, ending DST on the second Sunday in April, a month later than previous years. In 2013 Paraguay changed the ending date of daylight saving to the fourth Sunday in March. The starting date remains unchanged. On 5 August 2020, an initiative arose to keep the daylight saving time as the official year-round time, with the intention to align Paraguay with neighbors Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
