2024 Men's T20 World Cup Super 8 Group 1
The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, a biennial world cup for cricket in Twenty20 International (T20I) format, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The second round also known as the Super stage or the Super 8 stage was played from 19 to 24 June 2024, between 8 teams advanced from the group stage. It was played in two groups of four with each team facing the other teams in the group for a total of 12 matches across four venues in the West Indies. The top two teams from each group—India and Afghanistan from Group 1; South Africa and England from Group 2—advanced to the knockout stage. Afghanistan and South Africa progressed to semi-final 1 while India and England progressed to semi-final 2. The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, co-hosted by Cricket West Indies and USA Cricket from 1 to 29 June 2024. It was the first major ICC tournament to include matches played in the United States. The West Indies had previously hosted the 2010 competition. A total of twenty teams competed in 55 matches across six venues in the West Indies, and three in the United States. The number of participants was increased from sixteen to twenty teams, which included teams from the two hosts, the top eight teams from the 2022 edition, the two highest-ranked teams in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings not already qualified, and eight other teams determined through regional qualifiers. Jasprit Jasbirsingh Bumrah (; born 6 December 1993) is an Indian cricketer who plays for the national team in all formats of the game and has captained India in Tests and T20Is. Azmatullah Omarzai (Pashto: عظمت الله عمرزی born 24 March 2000) is an Afghan cricketer from Nurgal District of Kunar province in eastern Afghanistan. Suryakumar Yadav (born 14 September 1990) is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed middle-order batter. The Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, previously the Beausejour Cricket Ground, is a cricket ground located near Gros Islet, Saint Lucia standard seating capacity of 15,000. It was completed in 2002. Originally named after the Beausejour hills and situated in the outskirts of Rodney Bay, the stadium was completed in 2002 and hosts domestic matches for the Windward Islands cricket team.
