''Universal Language'' (, ) is a 2024 Canadian absurdist comedy-drama film, co-written and directed by Matthew Rankin. It received positive reviews from critics and was named one of the top 5 international films of 2024 by the National Board of Review. ''Ghosts of the Sea'' () is a Canadian-French multimedia book and documentary film project by Virginia Tangvald, released in 2024. The book and the film both centre on her search for more information and understanding about her father, Norwegian adventurer Peter Tangvald, and her brother, Thomas Tangvald, who both died in separate shipwreck incidents in 1991 and 2014. Gints Zilbalodis (born 13 April 1994) is a Latvian filmmaker, animator and composer. ''Flow'' () is a 2024 animated adventure film directed by Gints Zilbalodis, written and produced by Zilbalodis and Matīss Kaža. A Latvian, French, and Belgian co-production, it features no dialogue and follows a cat trying to survive along with other animals in a seemingly post-apocalyptic world as the water level dramatically rises. Production of ''Flow'' started in 2019, and lasted five-and-a-half years with the animation done using the free and open-source software Blender. Jacques Tati and '' Future Boy Conan'' served as inspirations for the film. No storyboards were used for the production and there are no deleted scenes.
