The 2024 FIBA Men's Pre-Qualifying Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Africa was one of five 2024 FIBA Men's Pre-Qualifying Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. The tournament was held from 14 to 20 August 2023 in Lagos, Nigeria. Cameroon, as the winner, qualified for the 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. Teams Teams that missed out on the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the next best-ranked team will participate. Draw The draw took place on 1 May 2023. Firas Lahyani
Firas Lahyani (born 16 July 1991) is a Tunisian basketball player for US Monastir and the Tunisian national team. He is nicknamed "Air Tunisia", because of his athletic style of play and dunking abilities. Professional career Lahyani started his career with Sfax RS. In 2003, Lahyani signed with US Monastir. He won four consecutive national league titles with Monastir from 2019 to 2022. Omar Abada
Omar Abada (, born 20 April 1993) is a Tunisian professional basketball player who plays for Club Africain of the Championnat Pro A. Abada also plays for the Tunisia national basketball team. Born in Tunis, he started his career in 2010 with Étoile de Radès where he stayed for eight seasons. In 2018, Abada played a year in France for Saint-Chamond. Alpha Saliou Diallo (born June 29, 1997) is an American-born Guinean professional basketball player for AS Monaco of the French LNB Pro A and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Providence Friars. High school career Diallo was born and grew up in New York City but moved to Denver, Colorado with his mother. He played at Denver West High School as a sophomore and led the team to the Sweet 16 in the Class 4A tournament. Aliou Fadiala Diarra (born 31 December 2001) is a Malian professional basketball player for APR of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). Diarra was recruited on outside courts by Stade Malien and was an unknown in professional basketball circles until he gained attention in 2023 for his performance in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
