2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments
The 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments were basketball tournaments contested by 24 national teams, where the four top teams earned a place in the 2024 Summer Olympics basketball tournament. They took place from 2 to 7 July 2024 in Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico, and Spain. Brazil, Greece, Puerto Rico and Spain qualified for the Olympics. Teams The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments included the 16 best-placed non-qualified teams from the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and three highest-ranked countries per region in the FIBA World Ranking. The five other teams were determined through the Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments. Draw The draw for the Olympic qualifiers took place in Mies, Switzerland on 27 November 2023 (19:00 CET). 2024 FIBA Men's Pre-Qualifying Olympic Qualifying Tournaments – Europe
The 2024 FIBA Men's Pre-Qualifying Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Europe was one of five 2024 FIBA Men's Pre-Qualifying Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. The tournament was held from 12 to 20 August 2023. Two tournaments were held, with the winning team of each tournament qualifying for the 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. Gliwice, Poland and Tallinn, Estonia hosted the first tournament and Istanbul, Turkey hosted the second one. Poland and Croatia were the winners of the tournaments, defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey respectively in the finals. The FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, abbreviated as FIBA World OQT, and formerly known as the FIBA Pre-Olympic Basketball Tournament, is the last qualifying tournament for the Olympic Basketball Tournament. Basketball At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Men's Qualification
The men's qualification for the Olympic basketball tournament occurred between August 2023 and 2024, allocating twelve teams for the final tournament. All five FIBA (International Basketball Federation) zones were expected to have a representation in the Olympic basketball event. The 2020 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments involved four basketball tournaments contested by 23 national teams, and the top teams earned a place in the 2020 Summer Olympics basketball tournament. They were originally scheduled to take place from 23 to 28 June 2020 but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 29 June to 4 July 2021.
