The women's 100 metres hurdles at the 2024 European Athletics Championships took place at the Stadio Olimpico on 7 and 8 June. 2024 European Athletics Championships
The 26th European Athletics Championships were held from 7 to 12 June 2024 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy. It was the third time Italy staged this sporting event after the inaugural 1934 European Athletics Championships, 1934 edition in Turin, for men only, and the 1974 European Athletics Championships, 1974 edition at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Thus, the city and the venue hosted the event for the second time after 50 years. Stadio Olimpico staged also the Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics, 1960 Olympic Games and 1987 World Championships in Athletics. The venue was renovated in 1990 and holds up to 70,000 spectators. Karin Strametz (born 18 April 1998) is an Austrian hurdler. She has multiple national titles in the 60m hurdles and 100m hurdles. Career She set a new personal best running 8.13 seconds for 60m hurdles at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń in March 2021. She was part of the Austrian national record-setting 4x100m team at the 2021 Diamond League meeting in Lausanne. She won her first Austrian 60m hurdles title in February 2022 in 8.23 seconds. Lovise Skarbøvik Andresen (born 17 January 2004) is a Norwegian hurdler. In 2024, she became Norwegian national champion in the 60m hurdles and competed at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in the 100 metres hurdles. Early and personal life A member of Dimna IL, she is from Ellingsøya in Ålesund Municipality. In 2020, she moved to Ulsteinvik to live in an apartment at the football team IL Hødd's home ground Høddvoll. She had successive operations when she was 17 and 18 years-old after being diagnosed with a rare condition, Sinus tarsi syndrome, which caused chronic pain along the outside of the foot and damage to ligaments.
