2024 European Athletics Championships
The 26th European Athletics Championships were held from 7 to 12 June 2024 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy. It was the third time Italy staged this sporting event after the inaugural 1934 European Athletics Championships, 1934 edition in Turin, for men only, and the 1974 European Athletics Championships, 1974 edition at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Thus, the city and the venue hosted the event for the second time after 50 years. Stadio Olimpico staged also the Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics, 1960 Olympic Games and 1987 World Championships in Athletics. The venue was renovated in 1990 and holds up to 70,000 spectators. On 10 November 2020, the European Athletic Association (EAA) chose Rome at its 160th Council Meeting held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, COVID-19 pandemic. Ninon Chapelle (née Guillon-Romarin, born 15 April 1995) is a French pole vaulter. She competed in the women's pole vault at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics. She represented France in 2017 European Team Championships, where she was 3rd with a jump of 4.45m in Lille. At the 2017 European Athletics U23 Championships she finished in 5th place with a jump of 4.35m. She holds the French indoor record with a jump of 4.72 m, set on 25 February 2018 in Clermont-Ferrand. Pascale Stöcklin (born 5 February 1997) is a Swiss pole vaulter. Career She won her first senior medal with a silver in the pole vault at the 2017 Swiss Indoor Championships behind Angelica Moser in February 2017. She won gold at the Athletics at the 2017 Jeux de la Francophonie in Abidjan. She competed at the 2022 European Athletics Championships – Women's pole vault, 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich in the pole vault. In June 2024, she increased her personal best to 4.50 metres. Elina Lampela (born 18 February 1998) is a Finnish athlete who competes in the pole vault. She has competed for Finland at multiple major championships including the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games. She finished in fourth place at both the 2024 European Athletics Championships and 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Amálie Švábíková
Amálie Švábíková (born 22 November 1999) is a Czech pole vaulter. She won the bronze medal at the 2023 European Indoor Championships. Švábíková claimed silver and gold at the 2019 and 2021 European Under-23 Championships respectively. She was the 2016 European U18 bronze medallist to take gold at the World U20 Championships two years later. Švábíková is the Czech indoor record holder for the pole vault and won six national titles.
