2024 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2024 Calgary Stampeders season was the 66th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 79th overall. The Stampeders missed the playoffs for the first time since 2004. The 2024 CFL season was Dave Dickenson's eighth season as head coach and his second season as general manager. The Calgary Stampeders drew an average home attendance of 21,541 in 2024. West Division (CFL)
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division. With a few exceptions, a senior men's football championship has been contested in Western Canada since 1911, and with a few additional exceptions the Western champion has played the Eastern champion for the Grey Cup. Although its teams have been members of the CFL since 1958, the then-Western Football Conference remained a distinct legal entity until 1981. Ron Tiavaasue (born 19 November 1997) is a Samoan–New Zealand professional gridiron football fullback who is a free agent. He was most recently a member of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Snow Badgers, Missouri State Bears, Utah State Aggies and New Mexico State Aggies. He was selected by the Stampeders in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2024 CFL global draft. Early life Tiavaasue was born on 19 November 1997 in Samoa. The Saskatchewan Huskies football team represents the University of Saskatchewan in U Sports football that competes in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association conference of U Sports. The program has won the Vanier Cup national championship three times, in 1990, 1996 and 1998. The Huskies became only the second U Sports team to advance to three consecutive Vanier Cup games, after the Saint Mary's Huskies, but lost all three games from 2004-2006. Christy Nkanu (born October 23, 1998) is a Canadian professional football offensive lineman for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Southern Utah and Washington State. Early life Nkanu was born in Montreal, Quebec. McGill Redbirds Football
The McGill Redbirds football team represents McGill University in Canadian football in U Sports and is based in Montreal, Quebec. The program is one of the oldest in all of Canada, having begun organized competition in 1874. The team won its first collegiate championship in 1902 and also won in 1912, 1913, 1919, 1928, 1938 and 1960 prior to the inauguration of the Vanier Cup in 1965. McGill appeared in the Vanier Cup final in 1969, 1973 and 1987, with the Redmen finally winning the title in the 1987 game. Benjamin Labrosse (born October 18, 1999) is a Canadian professional football defensive back for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Syracuse and U Sports football at McGill. Early life Labrosse was born in Montreal. He played three seasons of CEGEP football at Vanier College, recording 124.5 tackles and 11 interceptions. He was a three-time RSEQ all-star.
