2024 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Men's Slalom
The men's slalom in the 2024 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup consisted of ten events, including the discipline final. Due to three prior cancellations in other disciplines, the first men's race of the entire season was the slalom held at Gurgl, Austria on 18 November 2023. The original season schedule called for 13 events, but during the season (as discussed below) three slaloms were canceled and not rescheduled. In an upset, Manuel Feller of Austria won his first career discipline title. Slalom Skiing
Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles or gates. These are spaced more closely than those in giant slalom, super-G, super giant slalom and Downhill (ski competition), downhill, necessitating quicker and shorter turns. Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel
The Hahnenkamm is a mountain in Europe, directly southwest of Kitzbühel in the Kitzbühel Alps of Austria. The elevation of its summit is above sea level. The Lauberhorn ski races (Lauberhorn World Cup alpine ski races () ( downhill, slalom, and combined) are among the highest-attended winter sports events in the world, attracting around 30,000 spectators each year. Madonna Di Campiglio
Madonna di Campiglio () is a village and a ski resort in northeast Italy. It is a ''frazione'' of the ''comune'' of Pinzolo. The village lies in the Val Rendena at an elevation of above sea level, and has approximately 1,000 inhabitants. Timon Haugan
Timon Haugan (born 27 December 1996) is a Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer who specializes in slalom. At the 2016 Junior World Championships, Haugan finished eleventh at best, but returned in 2017 and won the silver medal in the giant slalom. Haugan made his World Cup debut in December 2017 in Italy at Madonna di Campiglio, and also collected his first World Cup points with a 24th-place finish. The 2024 World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships were held at Haute-Savoie in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, France from 30 January to 3 February 2024. It was the sixth time that a World Junior Alpine Skiing Championship was held in France after the editions in 1982, 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2010. The races took place on several courses: Chatel, Les Gets, Morzine, St. Jean d'Aulps and Avoriaz. Clément Noël (born 3 May 1997) is a French World Cup alpine ski racer and specialises in the slalom discipline. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics, placing fourth in the slalom, then became the gold medalist in slalom at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Biography Noël is from the Remiremont commune in Vosges, in northeastern France. In 2015, he joined the France B team and made his first World Cup debut in November 2016 at Levi, Finland. He became Champion of France of Slalom Elite with Lélex on March 26, 2017, and scored his first points in the World Cup by taking 20th place in the slalom at Val-d'Isère on December 10, 2017.
