2024–25 USM Alger Season
The 2024–25 season, is USM Alger's List of USM Alger seasons, 47th season and the club's 30th consecutive season in the top flight of Football in Algeria, Algerian football. In addition to the 2023–24 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, domestic league, USM Alger are participating in this season's editions of the 2023–24 Algerian Cup, Algerian Cup and the 2024–25 CAF Confederation Cup, Confederation Cup. On June 27, 2024, The federal office approved the calendar for the 2024–25 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, 2024–25 Ligue 1 season with the aim of ending on May 31, 2025. The first round is scheduled for September 14, this delay is motivated both by an extended end of the 2023–24 season but also by the holding of early 2024 Algerian presidential election, presidential elections which will take place on September 7, 2024. USM Alger
Union Sportive de la Médina d'Alger (); known as USM Alger or simply USMA for short, is a Association football, football club based in the inner suburbs of Algiers. The club was founded in 1937 and its colours are red and black. Their home stadium, Omar Hamadi Stadium, has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. Ismaïl Belkacemi
Ismaïl Abdelfetah Belkacemi (; born 24 June 1993) is an Algerian footballer who plays as a forward for Al Ahli SC in the Libyan Premier League. Club career In 2015, Belkacemi signed a two-year contract with MO Béjaïa. In 2018, He signed a two-year contract with CS Constantine. Rabah Saâdane
Rabah Saâdane (; born 3 May 1946) is an Algerian football manager and retired professional player whose playing career was abruptly interrupted at the age of 27 by a car accident. His last management job was of the Algerian national team before resigning in September 2010. He currently serves as the strategic advisor for the Tanzania national football team It was his fifth separate spell in charge of the team after earlier stints between 1981 and 2004 and was arguably his most successful, given its arduous qualification process. Algerian Football Federation
The Algerian Football Federation (AFF); () is the governing body of Association football, football in Algeria. Formed in 1962 and was based in the capital Algiers. Juan Carlos Garrido Fernández (born 29 March 1969) is a Spanish football manager who is the manager of Libyan Premier League club Al Ittihad Tripoli. Billel Dziri (; born 21 January 1972) is an Algerian football manager, former player and the current head coach of ES Ben Aknoun. After starting off with NA Hussein Dey, Dziri played most of his career with USM Alger and had spells with Étoile Sportive du Sahel in Tunisia, CS Sedan Ardennes in France and Al-Sadd in Qatar. 2024 Algerian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Algeria on 7 September 2024. Originally scheduled for December 2024, they were brought forward by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Tebboune was challenged by Youcef Aouchiche of the Socialist Forces Front and Abdellah Hassan Cherif of the Movement of Society for Peace. Tebboune won a second term in office. Conflicting reports about the election's turnout by the National Independent Electoral Authority led to criticism from the three candidates. Aouchiche and Cherif challenged the results. The 2023–24 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 is the 62nd season of the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 since its establishment in 1962. A total of 16 teams contest the league. It began on 15 September 2023 and will conclude on 14 June 2024. The league was suspended on 18 October for three weeks in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza during the Gaza war.
