2023–24 Utah State Aggies Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team represented Utah State University in the Mountain West Conference (MWC) during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by first-year head coach Danny Sprinkle, the Aggies played their home games on campus at the Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah. They finished the season 28–7, 14–4 in MWC play, to win the regular-season conference championship. They defeated Fresno State in the quarterfinals of the MWC tournament before losing to San Diego State. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 8 seed in the Midwest region. They defeated TCU in the first round before losing to No. 1-seeded Purdue. On March 25, 2024, head coach Danny Sprinkle left the school to become the head coach at Washington. Danny Sprinkle
Danny Sprinkle (born October 12, 1976) is an American college basketball coach, and is the head coach at University of Washington. He was previously the head coach at his alma mater, Montana State University, and Utah State University. Playing career A two-time all-state selection in Montana at Helena High School, Sprinkle played college basketball at Montana State University in Bozeman, where he was conference freshman of the year in 1996, and earned all-league honors in 1997. He graduated as the school's seventh-all-time-leading scorer. Coaching career Sprinkle's first coaching job came in 2000 as an assistant at Cal State Northridge, where he stayed for six seasons. He returned to Montana State for a two-year stint as an assistant under new head coach Brad Huse, then went back to Northridge in 2008 for five seasons. The 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 7, 2022. The regular season ended on March 12, 2023, with the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament beginning with the First Four on March 14 and ending with the championship game at NRG Stadium in Houston on April 3. Alpine is a city on the northeastern edge of Utah County, Utah, United States. The population was 10,251 at the time of the 2020 census. Steven Ashworth (born May 1, 2000) is an American basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. He played college basketball for the Utah State Aggies and Creighton Bluejays. Early life and high school Ashworth attended Lone Peak High School. He averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game as a senior. The Montana State Bobcats men's basketball team represents Montana State University in the Big Sky Conference in NCAA Division I. The Bobcats play their home games on campus at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman, Montana. The VCU Rams men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Virginia Commonwealth University. The 2023 Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Mountain West Conference. It was held March 8–11, 2023, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in Paradise, Nevada.
