2023–24 Texas Longhorns Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Texas Longhorns men's basketball team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas as members of the Big 12 Conference. The Longhorns were led by first year head coach Rodney Terry. The season was their last season in the Big 12 Conference for Texas as they joined the Southeastern Conference on July 1, 2024. Previous season Season outlook The 2022–23 season started off on a high note with wins against ranked Gonzaga and Creighton. On December 12, 2022, Head Coach Chris Beard was indefinitely suspended and later fired for a felony domestic abuse charge. These charges were later dropped. Rodney Terry
Rodney Eric Terry (born March 27, 1968) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball head coach at the University of Texas at Austin. Early life and education Born in Angleton, Texas, Terry graduated from Angleton High School and played college basketball at St. Edward's University in Austin, where he was the all-time leading scorer (record still stands as of 2025). Terry graduated from St. Edward's in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in physical education. Coaching career Early career Terry began his coaching career as an assistant coach at St. Edward's in the 1990–91 season. Then, Terry became an assistant at James Bowie High School also in Austin, where he would remain from 1991 to 1993. Dylan Disu
Dylan Akeem Disu (born November 12, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for Raptors 905 of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores and Texas Longhorns. High school career Disu played basketball for Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, Texas. He led his team to back-to-back District 13-6A titles. As a senior, Disu averaged 23.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, earning district MVP honors. He scored a school-record 51 points against Leander High School. A four-star recruit, Disu committed to playing college basketball for Vanderbilt over offers from SMU, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M and Illinois, among others. UCF Knights Men's Basketball
The UCF Knights men's basketball team represents The University of Central Florida, located in unincorporated Orange County, Florida near Orlando, United States. UCF competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the Big 12 Conference. The Knights play their home games in the Addition Financial Arena located on the university's main campus. They are coached by Johnny Dawkins who was hired in 2016.
