2023–24 Oklahoma Sooners Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball team represented the University of Oklahoma during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was by led head coach Porter Moser in his third year and played their home games at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma, as members of the Big 12 Conference. The season was the last season in the Big 12 Conference for Oklahoma as they joined the SEC on July 1, 2024. Previous season The Sooners finished the 2022–23 season 15–17, 5–13 in Big 12 Play to finish tied in ninth place. They were defeated by Oklahoma State in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament. Porter Moser
Porter Andrew Moser (born August 24, 1968) is a college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the University of Oklahoma men's basketball team. Moser spent 10 years (2011–2021) at Loyola University Chicago, helping lead the Ramblers to the Final Four in 2018. Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Moser attended and played varsity basketball at Benet Academy, and then Creighton University. Moser previously held the head coaching position at Illinois State (2003–2007) and Arkansas-Little Rock (2000–2003). Prior to being hired at Loyola, Moser was an assistant coach at Saint Louis under Rick Majerus for the 2007-08 season, and the associate head coach from 2008-11. Tanner Groves
Tanner John Groves (born May 22, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Nagasaki Velca of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the Eastern Washington Eagles and Oklahoma Sooners. Early life Groves was born in Spokane, Washington. He attended Shadle Park High School, where he was named All-State and All-Greater Spokane League as a senior after averaging 18.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.
