2023–24 Oklahoma City Thunder Season
The 2023–24 Oklahoma City Thunder season was the 16th season of the franchise in Oklahoma City and the 58th in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After a win over the Rockets on February 27, the Thunder improved on their 40–42 record from the previous year. After a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the Thunder reached 50 wins for the first time since 2016. On March 31, 2024, the Thunder clinched their first playoff berth since 2020 after a win against the New York Knicks. They eventually clinched their first division title since 2016, along with the top seed in the Western Conference for the first time since 2013. Mark Daigneault
Mark Daigneault ( ; born February 23, 1985) is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Daigneault began his coaching career in 2007 as an assistant for Holy Cross and Florida before joining the Thunder organization in 2014. He spent five seasons as the head coach for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder's G-League affiliate, before becoming the head coach for the Thunder in November 2020. He was named NBA Coach of the Year for the 2023–24 season. The following year, he led the Thunder to a franchise record 68 wins and an appearance in the 2025 NBA Finals. NBA Play-in Tournament
The NBA play-in tournament is the preliminary National Basketball Association (NBA) postseason tournament. It determines the final two playoff seeds in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference and is played immediately prior to the NBA playoffs, which is the main tournament of the postseason and regarded by the league as separate from the play-in tournament. The 2004–05 NBA season was the 37th for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association. During the offseason, the Suns re-acquired All-Star guard Steve Nash from the Dallas Mavericks, and signed free agent Quentin Richardson.
