2023–24 Northern Iowa Panthers Women's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Northern Iowa Panthers women's basketball team represented the University of Northern Iowa during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Panthers, led by 17th-year head coach Tanya Warren, played their home games at the McLeod Center located in Cedar Falls, Iowa as members of the Missouri Valley Conference. Previous season The Panthers finished the 2022–23 season 23–10, 16–4 in MVC play to finish in third place. In the MVC tournament, they defeated UIC in the quarterfinals, before falling to Belmont in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid into the WNIT, where they defeated Colorado State in the first round, before falling to Nebraska in the second round. Tanya Warren
Tanya Warren (born 1965) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa. Early life and education Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Warren graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School (Des Moines, Iowa), Abraham Lincoln High School in 1983, then played basketball at Creighton Bluejays women's basketball, Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska from 1984 to 1988 at guard (basketball), guard, after redshirting her freshman year. At Creighton, among Warren's teammates was Connie Yori, who would later coach at Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball, Nebraska. Warren averaged 13.9 points and 3.2 rebounds as a redshirt freshman in 1984–85. Warren averaged 14.6 points and 3.0 rebounds as a sophomore, 18.7 points and 3.8 rebounds as a junior, and 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.8 rebounds as a senior in a season where she only played 10 games. The Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team represents the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference as well as the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team plays its regular season games at 15,400-seat Carver-Hawkeye Arena, along with men's basketball and wrestling teams. The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college women's basketball team competing in the Horizon League for the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. The head coach is Kayla Karius. Coralville, Iowa
Coralville is a city in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. It is a suburb of Iowa City and part of the Iowa City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 22,318 at the 2020 census. History Coralville is the location of the Edgewater Park Site, a 3,800-year-old archaeological site along the Iowa River. Edgewater is the oldest site in Iowa with evidence of domesticated plant use. Coralville incorporated as a city on June 1, 1857. The city's name is derived from the fossils that are found in the limestone along the Iowa River. In 1864, Louis Agassiz, a Harvard University zoologist, gave a lecture at the nearby University of Iowa titled "The Coral Reefs of Iowa City".
