2023–24 Northern Iowa Panthers Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball team represented the University of Northern Iowa during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Panthers, led by 18th-year head coach Ben Jacobson, played their home games at the McLeod Center located in Cedar Falls, Iowa as members of the Missouri Valley Conference. Previous season The Panthers finished the 2022–23 season 14–18, 9–11 in MVC play to finish in eighth place. In the MVC tournament, they defeated Illinois State in the opening round, before losing to Bradley in the quarterfinals. Ben Jacobson
Ben Scott Jacobson (born December 16, 1970) is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa, a position he has held since 2006. He served as an assistant at North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's basketball, North Dakota, North Dakota State Bison men's basketball, North Dakota State, and Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball, Northern Iowa before taking over as head coach at Northern Iowa in 2006. Playing career Jacobson attended Mayville-Portland High School. After his senior year he was named 1989's North Dakota Mr. Basketball. Jacobson went on to play collegiately at the University of North Dakota from 1989 to 1993. He was a four-year letterman for the Sioux, a two-year starter, and he ended his career as the school's all-time assist leader. Lumberton is a city in Robeson County, North Carolina, United States. As of 2020, its population was 19,025. It is the county seat of Robeson County. The Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represents Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The Ramblers participate as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Ramblers joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013, and stayed until 2022. Prior to 2013, the team had spent 34 seasons as a charter member of the Horizon League.
