2023–24 Northern Illinois Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Northern Illinois Huskies men's basketball team represented Northern Illinois University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies were led by third-year head coach Rashon Burno. They played their home games at the Convocation Center in DeKalb, Illinois as members of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 11–20, 5–13 in MAC play to finish in 11th place. They failed to qualify for the MAC tournament Previous season The Huskies finished the 2022–23 season 13–19 and 9–9 in the MAC to finish a tie for sixth place. As the seventh seed in the MAC tournament they lost to Kent State in the first round. Rashon Burno
Rashon Burno (born February 3, 1978) is an American basketball coach (basketball), coach who is the head coach of the Northern Illinois Huskies men's basketball team. Playing career Burno played at St. Anthony High School (New Jersey), St. Anthony High School in New Jersey under Bob Hurley, where he was a part of two national championship teams his junior and senior years. He played collegiately at DePaul Blue Demons men's basketball, DePaul under Pat Kennedy and was part of the Blue Demons' 2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2000 NCAA tournament squad. Coaching career Burno got his coaching start as the head basketball coach at Marmion Academy from 2007 to 2010 where he also served as an economics and physical education teacher before landing his first college coaching job as an assistant at Towson Tigers men's basketball, Towson, reuniting with his college head coach Kennedy. Coal Valley, Illinois
The village of Coal Valley is located in both Rock Island County and Henry County in the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 3,873 at the time of the 2020 census, up from 3,743 at the 2010 census. It is mostly residential, housing families who work in or out of the greater Quad Cities Area and is considered a suburb. Xaverian High School
Xaverian High School is an independent Catholic high school located in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, serving grades 6 through 12. Grades 9-12 offer a college preparatory program and grades 6-8 are middle school. History The school was founded in 1957 by the Xaverian Brothers. The school is a member of the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA). Xaverian is governed by a president and board of trustees. It is operated independently of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. Jefferson is an unincorporated community in Washington Township, Clinton County, Indiana. The town is named for U.S. President Thomas Jefferson. The Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team competes as part of NCAA Division I, representing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference. Since it was founded in 1897, the program has appeared in eight NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA Division I tournaments and twenty other national postseason tournaments.
