2023–24 New Jersey Devils Season
The 2023–24 New Jersey Devils season was the 50th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974, and 42nd season since the franchise relocated from Colorado prior to the 1982–83 NHL season. The Devils participated in the 2024 NHL Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where they hosted Philadelphia Flyers on February 17, 2024, winning the game 6–3. On March 4, the Devils, who had a 30–27–4 record and were out of playoff contention, fired head coach Lindy Ruff, and replaced him with Travis Green. On April 9, the Devils were eliminated from playoff contention following a 5–2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Metropolitan Division
The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. It is also a successor of the original Atlantic Division (NHL, 1993–2013), Atlantic Division and one of the two successors to the Southeast Division (NHL), Southeast Division. Colin Miller (born October 29, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played in the NHL for the Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights, Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, and New Jersey Devils. Miller was selected in the fifth round, 151st overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Akira Schmid (born 12 May 2000) is a Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round, 136th overall, in the 2018 NHL entry draft. Playing career Schmid played most of his youth and junior ice hockey in the SCL Tigers system, appearing in just one game at the National League level, a relegation match in 2018. The 2024 NHL Stadium Series was a series of two outdoor regular season National Hockey League (NHL) games that were played during the 2023–24 NHL season. This was the first time since 2016 that two Stadium Series games were scheduled instead of just one.
