2023–24 Naisten Liiga Season
The 2023–24 season was the forty-first season of the , the premier level of women's ice hockey in Finland, since the league's establishment as the in 1982. The regular season began on 9 September 2023 and concluded on 18 February 2024. The playoffs began on 23 February 2024 and the Aurora Borealis Cup was awarded to IFK Helsinki (HIFK) on 21 March 2024. Entering the season, HIFK were the reigning champions of both the 2022–23 regular season and the 2023 Aurora Borealis Cup. Off-season Dissolution of Lukko Lukko unexpectedly withdrew from the Naisten Liiga and the team was dissolved in April 2023, just weeks after they’d successfully defended their place in the league in the 2023 Naisten Liiga qualification. Auroraliiga
The is the national premier league for women's ice hockey in Finland. Founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association as the Naisten Suomen mestaruus, SM-sarja (NSMs; ) in 1982, it was known as the Naisten Liiga (NSML;) from 2017 until being rebranded as Auroraliiga in 2024. The league comprises approximately 225 players across nine teams. Kiekko-Espoo Naiset, Kiekko-Espoo has been the dominating force of the Auroraliiga in the 21st century, winning seventeen Finnish Championships from 1999 to 2025. Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. Mira Kuisma
Mira Kuisma (born 6 May 1987) is a Finnish retired ice hockey goaltender and current head coach of the Finnish women's national under-18 ice hockey team and Team Kuortane of the Naisten Liiga. Rovaniemen Kiekko
Rovaniemen Kiekko, abbreviated RoKi, is an ice hockey team in the Finnish Mestis. They play in Rovaniemi, Finland at Lappi Areena, which has a 3,500 spactator capacity. Junior ice hockey is amateur-level ice hockey for 16 to 20 year-old players. National Junior teams compete annually for the IIHF World Junior Championship.
