2023–24 Mississippi State Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Mississippi State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs were led by second-year head coach Chris Jans, and played their home games at Humphrey Coliseum in Mississippi State, Mississippi, just outside Starkville, as a member of the Southeastern Conference. Previous season The Bulldogs finished the 2022–23 season 20–11, 8–10 in SEC play to tie for 9th place. They defeated Florida in the second round of the SEC tournament before losing to Alabama in the quarterfinals. Chris Jans
Christopher Paul Jans (born April 12, 1969) is and American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball, Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball team. Jans previously coached at New Mexico State, where he led the Aggies from 2017 to 2022. Jans is a graduate of Loras College, and hails from Fairbank, Iowa. Prior to New Mexico State, Jans was hired by Bowling Green in March 2014—his first Division I job. He led Bowling Green to its most wins in 13 years. The 2022–23 Pittsburgh Panthers men's basketball team represented the University of Pittsburgh during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Panthers were led by fifth-year head coach Jeff Capel and played their home games at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Panthers finished the season 24–12, 14–6 in ACC play to finish in a three-way tie for third place. This season marked a surprise turnaround from previous seasons; at one point, the Panthers were ranked No. 25 in the nation, their first appearance in the top-25 rankings in seven years. The West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represents West Virginia University in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I college basketball competition. The Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball team represents Kansas State University in college basketball competition.
