2023–24 Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2023–24 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey season was the 103rd season of play for the program and 2023–24 Big Ten men's ice hockey season, 34th in the Big Ten Conference, Big Ten. The Golden Gophers represented the University of Minnesota in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season, played their home games at 3M Arena at Mariucci and were coached by Bob Motzko in his 6th season. Season While Minnesota had only lost a handful of players in the offseason, the top half of the defense had been completely removed. The Gophers were also having to contend with the loss of top prospect Logan Cooley who signed professionaly during the offseason. The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey team is the college hockey, college ice hockey team at the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota. They are members of the Big Ten Conference and compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I#Division I Ice Hockey, Division I ice hockey. Brock Faber (born August 22, 2002) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). Faber was drafted 45th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2020 NHL entry draft. Playing career College During the 2020–21 season, his freshman year, Faber recorded one goal and 11 assists in 27 games for the University of Minnesota.
