2023–24 Michigan State Spartans Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2023–24 Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey season was the 82nd season of play for the program and 33rd in the Big Ten. The Spartans represented Michigan State University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season, played their home games at the Munn Ice Arena and were coached by Adam Nightingale in his 2nd season. Michigan State won the Big Ten men's ice hockey tournament for the first time in program history. Season After its best season in nearly a decade, Michigan State continued its rebuild by changing more than half of its roster. Fifteen new players were at the Spartans' training camp, including top prospects Trey Augustine and Artyom Levshunov. The massive influx of talent drew a great deal of attention towards MSU and the team was ranked in the top-10 in the preseason polls. Michigan State Spartans Men's Ice Hockey
The Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents Michigan State University (MSU). The team plays at the Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Michigan, on the MSU campus. The Spartans have won the NCAA national championship three times (1966, 1986, and 2007). The current head coach is Adam Nightingale, who took over coaching duties on May 3, 2022, after Danton Cole was fired. Michigan State currently competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans ice hockey program has seven CCHA regular season championships, 11 CCHA Tournament titles, two Big Ten Conference regular season championships, and two Big Ten tournament titles. Michigan State has also won 12 Great Lakes Invitational titles, three ACHA Division 2 titles and one ACHA Division 3 title. The 2023–24 Boston College Eagles men's ice hockey season was the 102nd season of play for the program and the 40th in Hockey East. The Eagles represented Boston College in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season, played their home games at Kelley Rink and were coached by Greg Brown in his 2nd season. Season The addition of six NHL draft picks, including three first-rounders, was a huge boost to the Eagles' outlook entering the season. Despite finishing with a losing record the year before, the team was #6 in the preseason rankings because of a revamped roster in which more than half of the lineup was new players. The Bridgeport Islanders are a professional ice hockey team based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They are the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, who own the franchise.
