The 2023–24 Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team represented Michigan State University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans were led by 29th-year head coach Tom Izzo and played their home games at Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan as members of the Big Ten Conference. The Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team drew an average home attendance of 14,797 in 18 games in 2023–24. With a win over Michigan on January 30, 2024, his 69th birthday, Tom Izzo earned his 700th career win, all at MSU. The Spartans finished the regular season 20–15, 10–10 in Big Ten play to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. Tom Izzo
Thomas Michael Izzo (, ; born January 30, 1955) is an American college basketball coach who has been the head coach at Michigan State University since 1995. On April 4, 2016, Izzo was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Izzo has led the Spartans to eight Final Fours in the NCAA Tournament, which include the NCAA National Championship in 2000 and a Runner-Up finish in 2009. His teams have won 11 Big Ten regular season titles and six Big Ten tournament titles in his 30 years at Michigan State. Izzo has the most wins in school history and has appeared in 27 consecutive NCAA tournaments, the longest streak of tournament appearances ever by a coach at one school. Joey Hauser
Joey Hauser (born July 17, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Michigan State Spartans and Marquette Golden Eagles. High school career Hauser attended Stevens Point Area Senior High School in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He helped his team win three straight Division 1 state titles. As a junior, he averaged 23.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game, earning unanimous All-State and Wisconsin Valley Conference Co-Player of the Year recognition. Tyson Walker (born September 18, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for Melbourne United of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Michigan State Spartans. High school career Walker played basketball for Christ the King Regional High School in Queens, New York.
