2023–24 LKL Season
The 2023–24 Lietuvos krepšinio lyga season, also called Betsafe–LKL for sponsorship reasons, was the 31st season of the top-tier level professional basketball league of Lithuania, the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL). Rytas won their seventh championship after defeating defending champions Žalgiris in the finals 3–1. Teams 12 teams participated in the 2023–24 season. On 22 May 2023, league's license was granted to M Basket. On 25 January 2024, Gargždai declared bankruptcy and during the meeting on 29 January, it was officially confirmed that the team would not play the remaining games of the season. Location and arenas Wolves Twinsbet played in the Avia Solutions Group Arena after spending their inaugural season playing in Alytus, during the reconstruction of the venue. Lietuvos Krepšinio Lyga
Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL; ), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 10 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including the top-tier level EuroLeague. On April 22, 1993, the Lietuvos krepšinio asociacija (LKA; ) was founded. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was built on the foundation of the LKA. Former basketball player Šarūnas Marčiulionis is named as the founder of the league. He was the first president of the LKL and served from 1993 to 2002. Remigijus Milašius is the current president of the league since 2013. The league's headquarters is located in Vilnius. Jonava () is the ninth largest city in Lithuania with a population of . It is located in Kaunas County in central Lithuania, north east of Kaunas, the second-largest city in Lithuania. Kalnapilio Arena
Kalnapilis Arena, formerly Cido Arena, is the largest multifunctional arena in Panevėžys, Lithuania. It generally hosts track cycling events, as well as basketball games and concerts. History The basketball club BC Lietkabelis, which currently competes in the domestic LKL league, uses the facility for all of its LKL home fixtures. It was opened on October 24, 2008. It replaced Sports Palace Aukštaitija as the home of BC Lietkabelis. The arena boasts an indoor 250 m long Olympic cycling track, the only one in the Baltic States. BC Juventus (), also known as Uniclub Bet Juventus for sponsorship reasons, is a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Utena, Lithuania. Founded in 1999, the club currently plays in the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga, Lithuanian Basketball League. Telšiai (; Samogitian language, Samogitian: ''Telšē'') is a city in Lithuania with about 21,499 inhabitants. It is the capital of Telšiai County and Samogitia region, and it is located on the shores of Lake Mastis. Alytus
Alytus () is a city with Town privileges, municipal rights in southern Lithuania. Twinsbet Arena, located in the southern part of Verkiai elderate of Vilnius, is the largest arena in Vilnius and second largest in Lithuania. It generally hosts basketball games as well as concerts.
